National Testing Agency wrapped up the national level entrance examinations recently. Several medical, dental and allied course aspirants have appeared for the National level tests. The students who wish to pursue under-graduate studies will be shortlisted on the basis of NEET cut off 2025. The NEET 2025 cut-off is a qualifying percentile which a candidate must score to meet the minimum requirements of the institutions. In accordance with NEET 2025 statistics, out of 22,09,318 test-takers, 12,36,531 candidates managed to qualify the exam by securing equal to or more than NEET cutoff qualifying percentile. As per 2025 data, unreserved category aspirants had to secure at least NEET pass mark range of 686-144, in order to get equal to the 50th percentile. According to NEET reservation criteria, candidates belonging to reserved categories had to secure marks range of 143-113.
The conducting authority will determine the NEET cut off for MBBS and BDS to shortlist the candidates for admission to MBBS, BVSc & AH, BDS, and other AYUSH courses offered by government and private colleges of India. Based on the minimum qualifying percentile of the NEET 2025 exam, the merit list will be prepared By Medical Counselling Committees (MCC) for admission to 15% AIQ, deemed/central universities, AFMS & ESIC institutes. While the respective state counselling authorities will use NEET 2025 state wise cut off for granting admission to 85% state quota seats and other private institutes in the state. As per the official brochure, the NEET cutoff percentile (minimum qualifying marks for NEET 2025) provides the performance comparison of a candidate among others and gives aspirants an idea of how much marks required for NEET. This means that NEET 2025 cutoff percentile will be determined on the basis of the highest marks obtained in the merit list for admission to MBBS/BDS courses. For instance, the NEET pass mark 2025 percentile for the general category implies that students are required to score more than 50% of applicants from the same category.
Aforementioned, to qualify NEET 2025 exam, medicos are required to secure NEET qualifying marks 2025 as specified by the authority. NEET cut off percentile varies for different categories. General category candidates must secure at least the 50th percentile, while for aspirants belonging to the reserved category have to secure the 40th percentile to pass the test. For NEET 2025, the minimum NEET exam pass mark for the unreserved category was 144 and for NEET 2025 cut off for OBC, SC, and ST students, it was 113. NEET 2025 cutoff: tie-breaking process
In case, if two or more candidates have secured equal NEET cut off qualifying scores, the authority will use the tie-breaking criteria to prepare NEET merit list 2025. The below-mentioned steps in order of preference will be followed to break the tie:
Higher marks in Biology: Aspirants securing higher scores/percentile in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be preferred first for the merit list.
Higher marks in Chemistry: If the tie still exists, then the higher marks/percentile of the candidate in Chemistry will be considered.
The number of incorrect answers: If the tie is still there, students with less number of incorrect and correct attempted answers will be allotted better rank.
Age: At last, the age of a candidate will be taken into consideration. An aspirant elder in age will be given higher rank in the merit list.
The cut off of NEET 2025 will be considered for admission to the following UG medical seats:
15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
85% State Quota seats
Deemed and Central universities
ESIC and AFMS
Private institutes
As mentioned before, for admission to 15% AIQ seats, aspirants must secure NEET 2025 AIQ cutoff as specified by NTA. It must be noted that the AIQ cutoff of NEET 2025 will be the same as the qualifying percentile.

National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the result in form of a scorecard on June 14, 2025. Aspirants can check their NTA NEET 2025 result by clicking on the link, which will be provided above on this page when declared. In order to download NEET 2025 result, aspirants need to enter their NEET roll number, date of birth and security pin. The result-cum-scorecard of NEET 2025 will mention the name, date of birth, the application number, total as well as subject-wise marks obtained and NEET All India Rank (AIR). Also, the result will display NEET cutoff 2025 and qualifying status.
On the basis of AIR, the exam conducting authority prepared NEET merit list 2025 indicating the rank-wise names of candidates who have qualified the exam. The merit list was forwarded to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for conducting NEET 2025 counselling for 15% AIQ, seats in deemed/central universities, ESIC, AFMS and central pool seats.
While the remaining 85% state quota seats in government colleges are allotted by respective state counselling authorities based on the scores and rank secured in NEET 2025 examination. The state counselling body is also responsible for granting admission to private medical/dental colleges located in a particular state.
The counselling of NEET is conducted tentatively within one week of the declaration of the NEET Result. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), is the body responsible for conducting the counselling for NEET 15% All India Quota seats, as well as for seats in Deemed and Central Universities.
NEET Counselling is conducted online in two rounds only for all those candidates who qualify for admissions in government medical and dental colleges across India. States will conduct separate two-round counselling process for admission to state quota seats in both government and private institutions. In order to participate in NEET Counselling, qualified candidates will have to first register themselves for the counselling process during the stipulated period.
Candidates who will qualify for 15% all India quota seats can directly appear for the procedure of NEET counselling.
Candidates will be required to take along with them their set of original documents when appearing for NEET Counselling. In case a candidate is unable to produce original documents they won't be allowed to take admission in any MBBS or Dental college through NEET.
